Making an Impact: Kidney Care Center at the OSF 31st Annual Crystal Heart Ball

On February 4, 2023, the OSF HealthCare Foundation at Little Company of Mary Medical Center organized its 31st Annual Crystal Heart Ball at the Field Museum. The event was a tribute to the Andrew Weishar Foundation, which provides aid to families impacted by cancer. The esteemed event was chaired by our very own nephrologist, Dr. Sushant Taksande, and his wife, Mrs. Laura Taksande, who contributed to making it a spectacular occasion. 

 At the event, Dr. Taksande talked about the challenges faced during the pandemic and the heroic efforts of hospital staff and physicians to support everyone through it. He also outlined the projects that OSF HealthCare Foundation is undertaking, emphasizing the importance of giving back to the community and supporting their needs. The Crystal Heart Ball was not only an opportunity to support the Andrew Weishar Foundation but also a chance to enjoy a beautiful evening with colleagues. The Field Museum provided the perfect backdrop for the event with its stunning exhibits and artifacts. Attendees were particularly impressed by SUE the T-rex, which was an unforgettable highlight of the night. 

In addition to Dr. Taksande, Dr. Osezua Olear and Dr. Hani Alsharif from Kidney Care Center attended the event also, to show support for the cause. The Crystal Heart Ball was a reminder of the importance of supporting charitable causes and coming together as a community to make a difference in the lives of others. 

The Andrew Weishar Foundation and its work supporting families affected by cancer is an inspiration to all those who attended the Crystal Heart Ball.
