Building a Foundation for Success (2004-2005)
The story of KCC traces back to 2004, when Dr. Tunji Alausa, our visionary Chief Medical Officer & Executive Chairman, laid the foundation of what would evolve into a pioneering nephrology practice. From the outset, Dr. Alausa recognized the need for strategic growth and expansion to ensure the sustainability and resilience of our mission.
Strategic Partnerships and Expansion (2005-2010)
KCC’s journey has been marked by significant milestones, from the strategic partnership forged with Dr. Mohammad S. Shafi in 2005 to the pivotal decision to rebrand as Kidney Care Center in 2010, signaling our evolution into a comprehensive healthcare provider.
What started as a single-specialty nephrology practice in Joliet, IL, has now blossomed into a multi-physician, multi-location healthcare network spanning six states. Today, with over 50 physicians and a dedicated staff of more than 200 workers, KCC stands at the forefront of kidney care, providing state-of-the-art facilities and innovative patient initiatives designed to enhance quality of life.
Expanding Horizons (2014-2016)
Over the years, our commitment to exceptional patient care has fueled our growth, enabling us to expand beyond the borders of Illinois into Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Florida, Indiana, and Georgia. Additionally, in 2024, we proudly launched a state-of-the-art facility in Oak Lawn, IL further enhancing our ability to serve communities.
Established in 2021, our office in Pakistan has also grown significantly, now boasting over 100 dedicated employees. This strategic presence not only strengthens our operations but also plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of patient services we provide in the US.
